One of best quotes I heard this year:
In Times of change, learners inherit the earth; while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists. ~Eric Hoffer
Read it carefully a couple of times and see which category you fall into.
Almost as important is to see where you’re prospects are and adjust yourself accordingly. All part of the emotional intelligence work that has grabbed my attention of late.
We all have two distinct choices to make about what we will do with our lives.
The first choice we can make is to be less than we have the capacity to be. To earn less in business. Too have less. To read less and think less. To try less and discipline ourselves less. These are the choices that lead to an empty life. These are the choices that, once made, lead to a life of constant apprehension instead of a life of wondrous anticipation.
And the second choice? It is to do it all ! To become all that we can possibly be. To read every book that we possibly can. To earn as much as we possibly can in business. To give and share as much as we possibly can. To strive, produce and accomplish as much as we possibly can. All of us have the choice.
When I read the words that are written by the great Jim Rohm I am inspired to look at some of the choices I make every day. As an observer of human behavior sometimes I look at people and see how they settle for not being the best they can be and I wonder, is that a choice or is it habit ?
Personal opinion is a habit not a choice. We just get in the habit and since so many people don’t get to read or talk to someone who is able to awaken them to thinking about it….They never do !
I’d love to hear your thoughts below. ~Lois LeSavoy
